West Of England Recognition
It is possible that the Devon Youth set up will have a record number of players involved in the ECB West of England programme this winter. Recently a number of the promising under 12 side attended the assessment for this winters Under 13 squad and three Devonian's represented the West in the washed out Under 14 Festival at the ECB Academy Loughborough at the end of August. The three James Burke, Luke Bess and Shane Evenden are pictured below with the England and Warwickshire batsman Ian Bell. Bell cut his teeth in Warwickshire youth cricket playing against Devon on three occasions. Bell awarded the three their caps and if all three tour the West Indies next Spring it will equal the previous record for the County when Justin Yau, Matt Cooke and James Fraser toured three years ago.
