Devon won by 4 wickets (Devon 20pts, Somerset 4 pts)

Somerset won the toss and batted on a very hot day. They had an early setback when Ridout was stumped by Yau off Allin with the score at 10. Depledge and Butt took the score to 131 before Depledge was bowled by Allin in the 38th over. Butt contributed 57 but Somerset were never able to capitalise on their start and after the maximum allocation of 57 overs reached 217 for 6, a gettable total on a good pitch and fast outfield.

Yet again Bess and Bowser got Devon off to a great start with 68 in the first 17 overs. Josh Bess played a delightful innings and the majority of those watching were sorry to see him fall just 3 runs short of a deserved century.

Despite losing 4 further wickets ( the pre match chat referred to the importance of partnerships but they still managed to lose 2 wickets at 180 and a further 2 at 202 and 205, not a good habit to get into!) Devon were always well in control and reached their target in the 46th over.

Devon now have 70 points out of a maximum of 80 with two group games remaining against Hampshire and Cornwall)
