Plymouth College and Torquay Grammar make it to Regional Finals

The Devon Indoor Girls cricket tournament, sponsored by the Lady Taverners, was held at Exeter University on Tuesday 4th March, teams from Plymouth College, Stoodley Knowle, South Dartmoor and Torquay Girls Grammar School competed at Under 13 and Under 15 age groups. Plymouth College won all of their fixtures to win the Under 15 competition whilst in a much closer under 13 group Torquay Girls Grammar School came out on top thanks to Stoodley Knowle overcoming the early pace setters, South Dartmoor, in the final fixture of the day. As well as certificates and a winning trophy both winning teams were presented with an indoor cricket bag donated by Matthew Theedom, Cricket Development Manager for Devon.

The two schools now progress to the Regional Finals which take place in Newbury on the 10th and 11th March respectively where we wish them the best of luck. Thanks to all the teams for taking part and also a big thank you to Ian Western for umpiring, Clare Bromfield for organising the day and Exeter University for hosting the event.
