After competing in the ESCA Under 15 Festival Devon had to send the vast majority of the Under 15 squad to play this ECB fixture against local rivals Somerset. Somerset batted first and thanks to Hannah Sparkes and contributions from the middle order managed to post a competitive 144-8. They used the big field well and were able to run lots of twos and also to tire the Devon girls who were a little jaded after the exertions of the Festival. Still some good bowling by the Devon girls meant that they were able to keep the total required within reach.

A steady start by Heather Knight and Rebecca Bertrand saw Devon reach 31-0 from the opening ten overs. The rate was then picked up as Devon added a further 40 in the next ten. Alice Wheatley was joined in a good stand of 30 with Amara Carr who also added a further 25 with Becky Piddock. Devon went into the final over needing a single from the final ball which they got off the first ball to seal an excellent win from a super game of cricket.
