Carr and Ansley dominate in comfortable Under-15 win
Devon under-15 girls continued their impressive start to their 2008 campaign with a resounding 133-run win over Dorset, to make it two out of two, at the picturesque North Molton ground, a lovely setting with superb facilities.
Amara Carr (74) shared in two half-century stands as first she added 67 for the second wicket with Esme Ansley (43) and then a further 63 with Kate Sargeant (25) for the third wicket. She was eventually run out in the last over as Devon posted an imposing 178-6 from their allotted 35 overs.
An early wicket from Clara Nielson got Devon under way in their attempt at bowling their visitors out. There then followed a 31-run stand between Laura Thomas and Eleanor Smith before Esme Ansley came on to bowl and claimed an incredible 5-1 from her five overs to wrap up the game.
