Devon claim consecutive win to seal play-off spot
Somerset hosted Devon in their return Under 15 league match at King's School, Bruton. Devon asked Somerset to bat and it was only 46 from Sophie Luff and a patient undefeated 30 from Lauren Shrubsole that enabled Somerset to get up to 100. Julia Hayes claimed 4-8 in a remarkable spell.
Devon got off to cracking start as openers Frances Lausen and Esme Ansley added 38 at nearly four an over. The introduction of spin slowed Devon and with Amara Carr (19) and Rebecca Bertrand (14) both getting out when in, the middle order fell away quite tamely. Skipper Rebecca Piddock rescued the situation as she finished unbeaten on 16 as Devon claimed their spot in the play-off.
