Solid batting
performance seals victory |
Devon entertained Worcestershire at Kings in a friendly match prior to Devon's participation in two Festivals this coming summer, one at Kings with the other in Cantebury. The absence of Vicky Bowden and Frances Lausen gave Devon the opportunity to try different options in the batting department and all of the top order benefited with the top five all making significant contributions. Esme Ansley (33) and Rebecca Piddock (27) added 74 for the first wicket whilst Giselle Ansley and Jodie Dibble both made 59. Dibble shared in the highest partnership of the innings adding 81 for the 4th wicket with Amara Carr (29). Tessa Dibble returned a second consecutive 3 wicket haul as the Midlands outfit struggled to cope with a well drilled bowling outfit. Giselle Ansley and Rebecca Donohue both claimed two wickets as Worcestershire were bowled out for 71 to slump to a 215 run defeat. |
