Ever attempting to please the crowd the Devon side agreed to take part in a “12-a-side everyone bowls one over match”.  This was a chance to perhaps regain some respect and take something positive from the day’s cricket. However despite some interesting and entertaining cricket none more so than watching David Manning bowl his first county over it was perhaps fitting that the Overseas team won the game with the Devon captain dropping a catch running backward near the boundary only to see the ball trickle past Will Murray over the rope for the winning runs. All in all a disappointing day’s Cricket with the Board expressing their appreciation to Bovey for their splendid hospitality and to the umpires, scorers and the League for making this game possible.
