B Division - Barton look to bounce back
B DIVISION

DEPOSED leaders Barton are looking to get back in track when Alphington visit Cricketfield Road.

Last Saturday’s defeat by Chudleigh cost Barton top spot and dropped them to second, where they are only a point ahead of Hatherleigh.

Skipper Adam Parker, now back from two weeks in Cyprus, is looking for a response from the players

“Obviously it was disappointing to slip below Chudleigh, but we are still in a great position and will be looking to bounce straight back with a string of positive results,” said Parker.

Chudleigh welcome back Ed Foreman and Ben Holmes for their trip to Barnstaple.

“Another good result wouldn't go amiss if we are looking to stay top of the table all through the run in,” said skipper Jon Martin.

TAVISTOCK have revenge in mind for their meeting with Lewdown.

Hopefully we can get a result there and rectify our early season loss,” said skipper Shaun Dymond.

“Ian Gray and Colin Broughton are both back in so we are at full strength.”

Lewdown skipper Charlie Hughes knows what’s coming from Tavvy and is prepared for it.

As for the disparity between the teams – six rungs in the league ladder –Hughes isn’t taking much notice.

“They are too good to be in the bottom three and while confident we are also very wary,” said Hughes.

Lewdown are minus Phil Yeo and Ant Weeks. In come Tom Pengelly and Justin Gliddon.

THORVERTON captain Paul Fielder is looking to make up list ground when D&T visit.

For no one in the B Division apart from Thorverton has had six games called off.

Having won three of the five they have started, Thors aren’t in too bad a position.

“It's important for us to go out and apply ourselves and pick up a good win,” said Fielder.

“All the lads are hungry to play after last week’s disappointment

“Will be taking each game as they come now and trying to pick up as many points along the way.

“We're only 23 points behind Barton (2nd) so all to play for.”

Harry Choules is in for James Jainon and Adrian gray replaces Gillam Crouch.

HATHERLEIGH hit the road to lowly Axminster where they are keen to get back to winning ways.

Hatherleigh need the points to keep in touch with the leading group of clubs and keep the pressure on Barton, whom they meet next week.

“We will not be taking Axminster lightly as away points are always hard to come by,” said skipper Mark Lake.

“Hopefully we will gain a winning momentum to take us forward into the crunch match with Barton the week after.

Andy Collier is in for the absent Jack Cherrington.
