HOW do you improve on a record-busting performance? That’s the thorny issue facing Plymouth captain Matt Hooper ahead of the game against Exmouth on the Maer.Budleigh set a new Premier batting record of 368 for three against Plymouth last Saturday – and the city side broke it to win the game by two wickets with James Toms and Jake Luffman both hitting tons.
Hooper did find a weakness though: Plymouth missed out on bowling bonus points.
“We are looking to close the gap on the leaders after only getting 16 points last week,” said Hooper.
“We go there in good form and high spirits, we will be looking for a victory.”
The only team news is Andy Birkett is back in.
“He has looked unbelievable in the nets and is raring to go,” said Hooper.
.”He is a big game player so he should add to our all round game.”
Exmouth are without seamer George Greenway, who sliced a hand with a chainsaw and is out for a couple of weeks at least.
Trevor Anning is fit again after injury and comes straight back into the attack.
Sam Conway replaces the work-tied Greg Marks.
“I am expecting a very tough game against a team full if confidence,” said skipper Richard Baggs.
“It should be high-scoring game, looking forward to it.”
