IT was all change at the top of the C Division 2nd XI table as Ottery St Mary regained top spot with an 18-point, 92 run win, at Barnstaple & Pilton.

The Otters batted first and were led to 160-8 by Steve Forbes (40no) and Ed Fowler (27) with Matt Newton the most successful Barum bowler with 3-29.

Matt Reed then claimed 3-14 as the North Devon outfit were bundled out for 68 with only Danny Donovan making any impression with 22.

Ipplepen II were denied victory at Thorverton II where they batted first and scored 221-9 only for the Thors to close on 160-9. Simon Tapley hit 100 and Geoff Heath hit 51 for Ipplepen whilst Mike Denford and James Meredith both bagged a couple of wickets for the Mid Devon side.

Andy Stirling then top scored with 49 and there were useful contributions from Denford (29) and skipper Alan Birmingham (18). Alan Boon took 5-30 for the visitors.

Clyst St George II powered to an emphatic ten wicket win at Cornwood III where they bowled the hosts out for 58.

Only Mike Hawkes (16) stayed in for long as Oz Besley (4-36) and Nick Guest (4-12) did most of the damage. Alan Welsh (45no) and Richard Coe (12no) then made sure of a perfect result for the Bohea Field side.

Iyvbridge II scored 235-5 led there by Dave Sexton (75no) and Harry Solomon (31). Dan Fuzzard (2-38) and Adam Whitehouse (2-70) claimed wickets for Axminster II who closed in reply on 178-8. Ronnie Reed (38) scored the early runs and then it was left to Max Felgate (38no) and Tom Maxwell (25no) to see their side to a comfortable draw.

Clyst Hydon II went down by a single run in a thrilling contest against visiting Plymouth Civil Service and Roborough II.

Ben Fitt (83), Simon Hodgson (28) and Will Thornton (21) combined to see the villagers to 174 with Ben Pitman the most successful visiting bowler with 4-49.

Neil Piddock then hit 38 and Chris Reed chipped in with 32 as the visitors edged over then line, winning with a single delivery to spare with their final pair at the wicket.

Chris Holmes took 5-53 for the hosts.
