Former team-mates remember Phil

SOUTH Devon and Abbotskerswell are due to play each other this afternoon in the annual Phil Blackmore Memorial Game.

The Newton Abbot club are hosing the fixture as they do every year in memory of their former captain.

Blackmore, who was 39, took his own life in late 2010. He had previously played for Abbotskerswell, where his late father Len had been 2nd XI skipper for a number of years.

Phil's old team-mates from both clubs are expected to be out in force for the game.

Steve Short, who played with Phil at South Devon and Abbotskerswell will captain the visiting team.

The Abbotskerswell team is: Short, Marcus Green, Mike Pugh, Alun Lewis, Dickie Acton, Andy Lock, Ryan Williams, Josh Dowling, Mark Phillips, Simon Phillips. Ross Bellotti.
