IPPLEPEN II matched title rivals Ottery II with an 18-point haul as they beat visiting Ivybridge II by eight wickets.

Keith Bell took 2-15 as the Bridger’s were restricted to 190-6 with Adam Smith hitting 75. Steve Harris (65no), Lee Curtis (51no) and Tom Cooper (55), then contributed to ensure a comprehensive win for the home side.

Will Moore (33), Russ Corney (26) and Simon Holmes (26) led Clyst Hydon II to their all out total of 158 against Axminster II.

Matthew Pile took 4-27 and Tom Maxwell claimed 3-48 for much improved Axminster II who claimed a second successive victory, this one by six wickets.

Matt Wakeley led the run chase with 70 and skipper Peter Kiy chipped in with 26. Former Devon pacer John Rhodes bagged a brace for the hosts, who are now out of the promotion race.

Barnstaple & Pilton II claimed a winning draw from their visit to Thorverton II who were hanging on with their last pair blocking the final three overs.

Barum batted first and Matt Clarke (81) and James Roe (66) led them to 245-7.

Neil Anning, Stuart Taylor and Mike Denford each bagged a brace of wickets for the Thors who then closed on 146-9 with Nick Taverner the hero with an unbeaten 32, Dave Green was the other blocker.

Alan Welsh (56) and Paul Richardson (54) were the principle run getters for Clyst St George II who scored 175-8 at home to Plymouth CS&R.

Chris Sanders (3-47) and Alex Yates (3-30) were the main wicket takers for the visitors who were led to a three-wicket victory by Ben Pitman (53).

Oz Besley claimed two wickets for the Bohea Field side.
