BRADNINCH kept some distance between themselves and the bottom two in the A Division with a crushing eight-wicket win at Bideford.
Bideford struggled to 127 all out in the 41st of their 50 overs – opener Josh Roach battling almost from start to finish for his 94.
Roach was seventh out on 125 – and when he went it wasn’t long before the rest followed.
Alex Hannam was the only other Bideford batsman to make a double figure score. He contributed 14 to a stand of 65 with Roach.
On a gloomy day for Bideford’s batters, six of them failed to make a run at all.
Bradninch’s new-ball pair Ross Acton (3-30) and Luandre van Wyk (3-21) did most of the damage up front.
Charlie Walker (2-16) ended Roach’s resistance and added a run-out and the wicket of Martin Shepherd in the latter stages.
The Bradninch chase was done and dusted inside 24 overs.
Chris Metters (26) and Acton (41) wiped off the first 65. Walker (38) and Dan Hardy (14) were the not out batsmen when the target was passed.
Bradninch face a toughie this Saturday as they host promotion chasing Budleigh Salterton, who have won seven on the trot in the league.
