Thorverton on the up says skipper White

THORVERTON captain Graham White said the 10-wicket win over Axminster was a sign of things to come.

Paul Miller top scored for Axminster with 49 and Matt Pile made 28 in an all-out total of 143.

The wickets were shared around with Koby Griggs taking a couple and Gill Crouch going one better with three for 27.

Paul Fielder (78no) and George Greed (54no) knocked off the runs without mishap.

Victory hoists Thorverton out of the bottom two for the first time this season.

That’s three wins in four starts for revitalised Thors and skipper White is confident there are more to come.

“We always knew we would be stronger in the second half of the season as players come back  - and it is starting to happen for us,” said White.

“George Greed is getting into his stride after a couple of games, so is Gill Crouch and James Hope is back to, which gives us extra options.

“What we have now is a completely different side – and our results can only improve now.”
