BRIXHAM skipper Andy Pugh will want to send his old team home empty handed when Barton visit Boundary Park.
Pugh was a member of Barton’s Premier winning sides of the late 80s and went back there as captain for a while after his initial spell with Brixham in the mid-90s.
Brixham beat Tavistock last Saturday to get back on track at the top of the A Division table following a couple of defeats.
More of the same is the order from Pugh as Brixham aim to get back into the top flight for the first time since 1993.
“It was good to get back to winning ways last week and hopefully we will continue this week,” said Pugh.
Left-arm seamer Craig Eaves I back in for evergreen bowling machine Gary Spencer, another ex-Barton favourite, who is away for couple of games.
Barton have been tripped up Cornwood and previously winless Bideford in recent weeks, which has dropped them into the mid-table area.
Thoughts of promotion are receding and too many more defeats will open up the threat of relegation.
“The last two weeks have been very disappointing and we have lost our way slightly,” said skipper Adam Parker.
“We had a good result in the Devon cup on Sunday (Barton walloped Bovey Tracey) so I will be looking for the guys to take that momentum into this week.
“We will need to pull out all the stops and get back to our best if we want to get a positive result at Brixham.
"Consistency is the key for us. We need to consistently hit our potential and we will be able to compete week in week out.”
Keeper-batter Andy Hele and all-rounder Mark Gilmour are back to boost the Barton team.
