BRADNINCH closed their campaign on a losing note when Hatherleigh defeated them by 64 runs.
Defeat means Bradininch finish fifth in the table – one place below their 2014 placing.
Hatherleigh raced to 291 for seven in their 50 overs – possibly helped by Bradninch skipper Dan Hardy using eight bowlers.
Ross Acton (2-30) was tidy, so was Luandre van Wyk, but six, seven and eight an over was commonplace.
And Mark Ashplant won’t want to dwell on is three overs for 36 runs.
Stand of the innings for Hatherleigh was the 139 put on by Rob Cockwill (69) and former Clyst Hydon batter Chris Jelley (67).
Carl Schwarz (38) and Jack Cherrington (50no) put on 75 in eight overs as the Bradninch bowling flagged.
Bradninch raced to 62 for one in the first six overs – Charlie Walker (38) getting on with it – then lost three wickets for six runs.
A stand of 127 between van Wyk (67) and Lawrence Greenway (57) got Bradninch up to 195 with more than20 overs to win the game.
It didn’t go to plan. Wickets tumbled to Jelley (2-49) and Mark Lake (2-27) and Cherrington (2-16), whose removal of Greenway was pivotal.
Bradninch’s last five wickets went for 14 runs as they were bowled out for 227.
