Tiverton and Bradninch were the trophy winners on the last night of the 2015 Exeter Indoor Cricket League. The cup final saw Division Two champions Tiverton spring something of a surprise when they out gunned Division One Shobrooke Park.
Park batted first, but their hopes were dealt a blow with the loss of Dan Pyle in only the second over to a catch by Dinesh Raheja off Jason Parr for just seven.
Chris Simpson (0), Christian Cabburn (4), James Bevan (0) and Matt Davies (6) all swiftly followed and it was only a gritty 26 from Jon Pyle that enabled the score to limp to 60 all out.
Brendan Parr (3-13), Jason Parr (2-10) and Paul Rendell (1-20) were the Tivvy wicket takers.
Pyle got quick revenge on Jason Parr, bowling him for four, but that was as good as it got for Park with Brendan Parr (21) and Raheja (23) seeing Tivvy to a five-wicket win in just 7.2 overs.
Bradninch took on Newton St Cyres in the Plate final, a side they had lost to in each of the four previous meetings.
Bradninch batted first and were led to an imposing total of 141 for one by 17-year-old Thom Bunker (37no), Chris Acton (25ret), Will Grieg (27 ret) and 16-year-old Max Cooper (26 ret).
Sixteen-year-old Will Birley then sent down his three overs for just nine runs, taking one wicket, and there were wickets also for Acton and Grieg plus three run-outs as Newton St Cyres replied with 81 all out.
Tiverton had reached the final with a six-wicket win over Exeter, who ere all out for 52.
Jason Parr (25) and Brendon Parr (23) were both unbeaten as Tivvy sailed into the final.
Shobrooke Park were given a walkover by Sandford after the latter could not raise a side for their semi-final.
This was the third time this indoor season Sandford had been unable to raise a side and they have been demoted to Division Two as a result. Tiverton will take their place in the top tier for the 2016 season.
