SHOBROOKE Park can make it three wins on the spin this Saturday if they beat second-placed Chudleigh.
Chris Simpson’s men followed their eight-wicket win at Abbotskerswell with an equally convincing nine-wicket triumph over visiting Braunton.
Braunton were a couple of players short of a full side – among them former Somerset 2nd Xi and Devon player Iain Bond – but should have made more than 87 all out.
Tom Youngman took four for 22 and James Bevan two for 20. A couple of run-outs helped.
Dan Pyle followed his ton against Abbots with an unbeaten 49 as Shobrooke won at a canter.
The game finished so early that tea was taken after the match, rather than between innings.
Braunton captain Jon Baglow was unimpressed by his side’s batting, saying: “Our batting was awful.
‘Shobrooke took three good wickets – we gave the rest away!”
