Now Jamie joins Craig in England one-day squad

NORTH Devon pace bowler Jamie Overton has been called up to the England ODI squad for the last two games in the five-match Royal London ODI series against New Zealand.

Overton, who is dual registered with Somerset and Devon, replaces Liam Plunkett who has been ruled out with a thigh strain.

Overton joins his twin Craig Overton in the squad. The 21 years old brothers are both uncapped at England level.

New Zealand lead the series 2-1 with the next match at Trent Bridge on Wednesday before the series concludes at Emirates Durham ICG on Saturday.

Overton has been capped by England at U19 and Lions level in the past.

Overton last played for North Devon in the win over Plymouth at Instow last month.

He played for Devon in last season’s Unicorns Trophy-winning side.
