Paignton's George Benton on way to Oz

GEORGE Benton will be aiming to leave Paignton on a high note with a telling contribution against leaders North Devon.

The bowling all-rounder is off to Australia next week – and isn’t planning on coming home any time soon.

“It won’t be this year and next year is doubtful too,” said Benton.

“I am doing some travelling all over Australia for around a year and a half.”

Benton has been one of Paignton’s success stories this with bat and ball – and has skippered the side when Connor Bryan has been injured.

Bryan is back at the helm tomorrow for what is going to be a challenge.

“After a good win last weekend we will go to North Devon with confidence,” said Bryan.

“We know it will be a tough game however we are looking forward to the challenge and to the game.

Mike Cousens, Bryan, Scott Baldry, Aaron Hearne and Harry Ward all come into the side.

North Devon name almost the same side that beat Sidmouth, other than bringing in seamer Sam Witheridge for batter Jas Kalsi.

“Paignton will be a tough side to beat if they perform,” said North Devon skipper Barney Huxtable.

“We know first hand young sides can be very unpredictable so we will need to make sure we are prepared for Paignton to throw everything at us.

“As long as we are patient and stick to our own game plan we will give ourselves the best opportunity of winning.”
