Devon Cricket Board Ltd seeks to employ a highly motivated and competent Cricket Development Officer to work as part of their cricket development team.
The successful candidate will join an existing cricket development team and will be responsible for supporting and delivering the business plan of the Cricket Board

The successful candidate is likely to have experience of working in sports development and working with various partners, developing core sporting activities and increasing the number of children taking an interest in cricket.
You will need to be passionate about and committed to the development of cricket at a local level.
Candidates must demonstrate both team working skills and the ability to work unsupervised and on their own initiative. Experience of managing projects and events to demonstrate sound organisation and planning is required.
Excellent communication, presentation and IT skills will be expected. Applicants must hold a full driving license and be able/willing to work some evenings and weekends.
The post will be based at The Cricket Office, The Sir Christopher Ondaatje Devon Cricket Centre, University of Exeter, Devon. For this role, it would be an advantage if you have experience of cricket/sports development at grassroots level and have a sound knowledge, appreciation and understanding of the game as well as experience of dealing with the education sector, voluntary sport sector and/or local authorities and coach sport partnerships.
You will be a self-starter with energy and enthusiasm together with good administration and organisational skills. Equally you will be an excellent communicator with a passion for the development of cricket/sport for young people.
The ability to build partnerships with voluntary workers and external agencies will be key to this role.
The post is for an initial 36 month fixed term period commencing from June 2012 and be reviewed after the initial fixed period subject to funding.
