Disappointment for Devon in O60s' final
DEVON O60s 2nd XI fell at the final hurdle when they faced Kent in the Spitfire County Championship final at Royal Ascot CC.

Devon lost the toss in the shadow of the main grandstand at Ascot racecourse and were put in to bat on what could only be described as a heavily rolled mud road.

The top quickly went and runs were hard to come by.

Devon were eventually all out for 112.  The leading run getters were Rodney Bowden (25) and Nigel Mountford (24).

Kent wanting 113 to win won with 12 overs and six wickets to spare.

“Take nothing away from Kent, they were worthy winners on the day,” said Devon skipper Stuart Munday.

“For the first time this season, Devon were not at the races.”
