Club Chairmen invited to be part of new structure

Devon Cricket League Board

At the League Annual General Meeting, held on the 29^th January, the League’s Management Report was agreed by the members. Part of that report, and tabled as a separate document, was a new constitution for the Devon Cricket League.

The Management Report signalled that, in line with clear and transparent governance, we wished to put in place a Devon Cricket League Board. The function of the Board would be to have overall responsibility, on behalf of the member clubs, for the conduct of League business.

We now wish to put this plan into operation. The chair of the Board will be the League President and include both the chairman of the Operational Management Committee (OMC) and the Playing Rules and Regulations Management Committee (PRRMC). We would like to add to this six chairmen from member clubs. The League secretary will act as secretary to this group.

We believe that this Board will need to meet no more than two or three times each year. The chairmen of the OMC and PRRMC will report, on behalf of their respective committees, to this forum. The Board members will receive the relevant papers on the work that has been undertaken and also a summary of the work to be undertaken in the coming year.

The purpose of this article therefore is to seek nominations for six members to join the Board from our member clubs. Ideally we would like the formation of the Board to be as representative of the League as possible.
