The Devon Cricket Groundsman’s Association will shortly be announcing plans for its summer 2016 programme to which all member clubs will be invited. Our programme will commence on 12th April with a seminar and AGM at Heathcoat Cricket Club.
We are looking for a club to host a mid – season seminar on a weekday evening during June or July. The subject will be the renovation of cricket pitches during the season where our team of Pitch Advisors, who will lead the evening, will demonstrate the techniques used in the recovery of pitches and getting the best out of your club’s machinery. Last season Devon Garden Machinery supported all of our events and we are hoping that they will do so again. Clearly your club will get the benefit of the work carried out on the evening.
The Association anticipate that the attendance would be from 20 – 30 Club groundsman. Ideally we are looking for a mid-Devon based club – but we are open to offers! We’d like the host club to be able to provide light refreshments (tea/coffee/cake) for which we will pay. On the evening we will need access to the cricket square – this will be very much a practical event – and some items of ground equipment.
