D DIVISOND Division leaders Yelverton swiftly returned to winning ways with their fifth success in six outings with an eight wicket home win over Whimple.
The visitors were restricted to 106-6 with only Kev Thompson (32) and Richard Brown (17) making an impression.
Matt Tamsett was the pick of the bowling in a game reduced to 36 overs per side owing to rain after the start and he finished with 2-30.
Skipper Richard West (44) and Steve Luffman (34no) saw the hosts home for the loss of just two wickets.
Dave Chamberlain and Jono Burden were the wicket takers for Whimple who remain without a win after one third of the season.
Halberton are up to second after they banked maximum points from an 85 run home win over Honiton.
Batting first the hosts closed on 213-9 led there by Tom Sambrook (62) and Damn Coles (41), the pair adding 124 for the first wicket.
James Mayes chipped in with 35 whilst Rob Ingram picked up 6-38 for the visitors.
Honiton were then bowled out for 128 with only Bradley Groves (27) and Peter Travis (25) making any impression as Richie Durrant (3-12), Fred Harding (3-25), Coles (2-32) and Jeremy Turner (2-8) shared the wicket taking duties.
Feniton are third after they had their meeting with win less Cockington done and dusted by tea time.
Ten-man Cockington were bundled out for just 57 with Russ Whitton sending down six overs and taking six wickets for just three runs.

At 79-7 Seaton were staring defeat in the face. Then Ben Copp joined the skipper at the wicket and the pair added 83 for the eighth wicket before Copp was dismissed for 33. Morgan stood firm and last man Joe Berry blocked out the final two deliveries as Seaton closed on 163-9.
Morgan said: “Phil (Collins) once again bowled really well. He is certainly on top of his game right now.
“We also fielded well and the support bowling was again very good. Sadly, not for the first time this season, our batting let us down. It was certainly not a 79-7 track and we need to rethink some of our shot selection and indeed shot making!
“That said when you emerge from a game without being beaten having been staring down the barrel you have to be doing something right!”
Filleigh moved into the top half of the table with their third win of the term, a five-wicket triumph over visiting Countess Wear.
The Exeter side batted first and were restricted to 140-7 with Andrew May (35) the principle scorer as Martin Brice (3-24) and Gary Henry (2-23) claimed wickets.
Simon Prideaux then thumped seven 6s wasting no time in hitting an unbeaten 72 to see the home side to a five wicket win at 141-5.
