D Division East - Pyle hits 67 and takes a five-for
D DIV EAST

FENITON II managed to do what few other side shave achieved this season, deny Exeter III an outright win as they claimed a winning draw when the pair met at Acland Park.

It was also a triumphant final day of the season for Feniton skipper Francis Pyle as he struck an unbeaten half century and then bagged a fivefer with the ball! Pyle hit 67 not out and Toby Devine chipped in with 56 as Feniton closed on 192-4.

Pyle then claimed all but two of the Exeter wickets with the reply closing on 191-7 and Pyle finishing with figures of 5-36.

Whimple II rounded off their season with a 13-run victory in a thrilling East Devon derby with visiting Uplyme and Lyme Regis II. Grant Northover struck his second successive half-century, top scoring with 62 and Simon Can Grudgings hit 51 in a Whimple total of 199.

Paul Crompton (4-32) and Wes Holmes (3-15) were the principle wicket takers for the visitors who were then bowled out for 186.

Mark Pincombe top scored with an unbeaten 81 whilst Alex Evens (3-15) and John Bardot (2-33) bagged the bulk of the wickets to fall.

Matt Perry hit 47 in an Axminster II total of 154 at Countess Wear II. Bob Adams claimed 3-06 and skipper Dave Sapiecha took 3-30 whilst teenager Tom Bendall bagged 2-19 for Wear who were then bowled out for 128.

Sapiecha (25) and Karl Short (20) were the main scorers for the Exeter side whilst Sam Farrow (4-19) and Perry (3-11) were the principle wicket takers.

It was a youthful Countess Wear side which included two Under-13s, one under-14, and an under-15 girl player, Rosie Short.

James Bourne hit an unbeaten 102 to lead Kentisbeare II to an imposing 260-6 at home to Upottery II. Simon Bath claimed 2-59 for the East Devon side that were then bowled out for 136 despite a fine knock of 77 from Adam Pullman. Michael Cooke took 6-45 for the Kents.
