EWCT Small Grants Scheme 2014 - NOW CLOSED

NOW CLOSED FOR APPLICATIONS

This is an ECB funding programme that is now in its forth year and is available to all Devon Cricket affiliated clubs.  Each County Cricket Board across the country has been allocated a finite pot of money to spread across these clubs and so the purpose of this article is for me to outline to you the process that the Devon Cricket Board (DCB) will be following this year in terms of allocating funding.

However, before I detail how the scheme will be working in Devon for 2014, please see below some key messages regarding the scheme:

  • The EWCT Small Grant Scheme 2014 is targeted at creating a sustainable future for affiliated cricket clubs, supporting them to specifically improve their environmental sustainability and to reduce operating costs.
  • The Devon Cricket Board (DCB) has been allocated a budget of £12,000 for the Small Grant Scheme.
  • Applicants can apply for grants between £1000 (minimum) and £4,000 (maximum) and please note that a minimum of 10% partnership funding will be required.
  • The national deadline for applications to be processed is Monday 19th May 2014.
  • Clubs that were successful in receiving funding through the Small Grant Scheme in 2013 will not be eligible to apply for funding through the 2014 scheme.
  • A copy of the new application form is available via the link on the right hand side of this page.

The Process for Devon Clubs wishing to apply to the EWCT Small Grants Scheme 2013

As I am sure you can appreciate, a figure of £12,000 to split between all Devon Cricket affiliated clubs is not a huge sum of money. In total we have 100+ clubs that qualify for the scheme of which 7 received funding through the scheme last year, meaning there are a large number of clubs that can access this funding in 2014. Clearly, this means that we are not going to be able to support huge projects, however we would like to ensure that we can support as many worthy projects as possible.

With this in mind it would be much appreciated if you could all read the guidance notes (link on right) and have a think about potential projects that your club may wish to put forward. When doing this please pay particular attention to the types of projects that are eligible, and not eligible, and please consider the fact that Devon only has £12,000 to allocate across the whole of the county. After considering these things, if you have a project that you wish to put forward for consideration can you please complete the application form (link on right) and return to me with a quote by Monday 19th May

Following May 19th, the DCB will appoint an representative panel that will sit down and look through all of the applications that have been put forward in order to decide which projects will receive County Board support and will be submitted to ECB (please note that it is at the discretion of the County Board as to which projects are put forward to ECB). The DCB will ensure that it undergoes this process by Monday 2nd June and will feedback to all clubs regarding whether their projects have been submitted to ECB at this stage. Please note that even once projects have been submitted by the DCB it is still down to ECB for final approval.

I hope this clear and understandable, essentially eligible clubs need to complete an application form for the Small Grant Scheme by Monday 19th May at the latest. However, if you would like further clarification or wish to discuss anything relating to the scheme in more detail please don’t hesitate to get in touch,
