THE Devon Cricket Groundsman’s Association are pleased to be able to announce that a seminar for Club Groundsmen and Cricket Umpires will be held on Wednesday 8 April at Sidmouth Cricket Club, commencing at 6.30 pm.
This is a free seminar open to all club groundsmen and umpires. A light buffet will be provided.
What will be covered?
The seminar, which will be led by ECB/IOG qualified professionals, will look at the elements that go into the preparation and assessment (Pitch Marking) of club pitches used in League cricket. In particular the following key points –
• Consistency
• Spin
• Seam
• Carry & bounce
Pitch and ground presentation. Who should attend? The evening is open to all umpires, particularly those involved in the assessment and marking of pitches in DCL matches, and all club groundsmen.
