Could you manage a County youth team?
Devon has a proud history of producing high quality players and teams throughout our County age groups. With 11 age groups across both the boys and girls game, there are hundreds of talented players representing Devon at the highest levels. To enable these boys and girls to play and learn through the game we have a group of dedicated, volunteer managers to organise and support their county cricket.
The role of a county age group manager is extremely important in the development of talented young players in the county. These managers are passionate about county cricket and are vital to the development of young county cricketers. In partnership with their coach, they provide a team that helps develops talent and what it takes to play in successful teams.
As we move into the next 12 month cycle of cricket, we are searching for new managers to fill 2 vacancies, one in a boys team and one in a girls team. We hope that the successful managers would be able to fulfill a minimum term of 3 years in this role.
Requirements:
- A
good knowledge and understanding of the game, having preferably played cricket
for a number of years
- A passion for cricket
Administration roles:
- Organising fixtures against County Opponents
- Organise travel, accommodation for festivals as required
- Liaise with County Age Group Treasurer
- Select County Age group squad in conjunction with the Age Group Coach
- Be part of the Devon County Age Group committee
- Load all results on Play-Cricket website and the Devon Cricket website
- Ensure all activities are organised to meet all minimum quality standards
Essential Qualifications:
- Must be CRB/DBS checked
- Must have up to date first aid and Safeguarding and Protecting Children certificates
- Clean driving licence and own a car
- Available to attend all coaching and fixtures
- Good communication skills
Desirable:
- Experience of managing a County Age Group squad or District Cricket Squad
- We would require the individual to have good management, organisation, and administration skills and be IT literate.
