PREMIER 2nd XIBOVEY Tracey lost by four wickets to Exeter in a low-scoring affair at the County Ground after Andy Mead (4-34) and Steve Milne (3-19) shot them out for 89.
James Mason (4-33) and Mark Gribble (2-18) had Exeter reeling at 49 for six in reply, but Mead (19no) and Dion Bulner (27no) saw them home.
North Devon came a proper cropper at home to Sidmouth, who needed just 25 overs to knock off 119 to win without losing a wicket.
Gary Chaplin took seven for 37 as North Devon were skittled with only Scott Amos (47) offering real resistance.
Saj Patidar (69no) and Matt Hewer (26) dealt with the run chace.
Matt Gregory – older brother of Somerset’s Lewis Gregory – was the man of the moment for Plympton 2nd XI in their three run win at Tavistock.
Gregory made a top score of 35 in Plympton’s total of 134 all out – Dave Jeffrey (4-16) doing the damage a they collapsed from 102 for five.
Mark Lovell (39) and Tom Wellard (34) seemed to have Tavvy on course at 91 for five after they had been 11 for three early on, but they were scuppered by Danny Hawker (5-23) and Gregory (3-42).
Exmouth fell apart against visiting Cornwood, whose 164 for nine proved more than enough,
Lloyd Loman (25no) and Roger Wensley (24) were the only scores in double figures as Exmouth collapsed from 40 for none to 115 all out as Robin Dart (5-6) went through them.
Ben Stein fired an unbeaten 70 as Plymouth thrashed Paignton by nine wickets.
Terry Farkins (41no) had top scored for Paignton in a total of 155 all out – Jordan Hancock taking five for 16.
A DIVISION
ALL the Lathwells were among the wickets as Braunton defeated Hatherleigh by 48 runs at Kelsey.
Dave Creswell (40) top scored for Braunton in a tally of 134 for eight. Richard Tidball slowed them up with a four for 43 haul.
Hatherleigh were 53 for three – Terry Reynolds making 20 – then the Lathwells got involved.
Jason took two for two, Sam had two for 17 and dad Mark wrapped up the tail with three for six.
Toby Lochead made an unbeaten 37 as Sandford negotiated a lively spell from Phi Barrow (4-45) to knock-off Plymouth’s 114 for eight with five wickets in hand.
Bradninch shut up shop in spectacular style at Chudleigh, crawling to 72 for seven in reply to the home side’s 218 for eight.
There were plenty of runs in the wicket – at least Paul Horne (58) and Mark Heather (60) found some – but tight bowling from Heather (2-5), Graeme Wilson (3-8) and Matty Ball (2-23) dissuaded Bradninch from having a go.
Budleigh Salterton fell apart at Heathcoat, where they were 78 for none chasing 133 to win and seemed to be cruising.
First team help from Joel Murphy (3-30) and Matt Plowman (3-14), plus three for five for Joe Marley, got Heathcoat out early. Tom Frankpitt (40) pilled Alex Thompson (37 for top score.
Lloyd White (32) and Eliot Rice (38) appeared to have the chase under control, then Kev Johnson (4-30) and Tom Drake (3-23) got involved as Budleigh slumped to 107 for eight then 125 all out.
