AT the recent annual meeting of Topsham St James CC, there was a change of senior personnel with Rupert Pratt standing down after five years as chairman and Mike Tracey taking the helm.
Pratt hasn’t gone very far as he has taken on the mantle of treasurer.
Another senior post to change hands is that of head of colts with Stuart Thorn taking over from Malcolm Shepherd.
There are also a number of new faces amongst the junior coaches/managers. All adult captains remain unchanged.
Indoor nets started at Exeter School a couple of weeks ago with the adults and colts alternating on Sundays until mid-April, when the club has pre-season friendlies against Hatherleigh and Feniton, before the various leagues get under way.
Players of all ages and standards are welcome at Bonfre Field. There are plenty of opportunities to play cricket at various levels.
In addition to the men’s and women’s 1st XIs, Topsham SJ operate a Men’s 2nd XI, a Sunday team, a midweek T20 side, and boys’ and girls’ teams covering all ages.
Registration evening for everyone takes place at Bonfire Field, Exeter Road, Topsham on Friday, April 24 from 5.30-8pm.
Current and potential new members - adults and colts - will be able to meet the captains, coaches and managers.
During the season ladies and older girls will be training on Wednesdays, the men and U15 boys on Thursdays and the Juniors from year two on Fridays.
