B Division - Richards and Woodward demolish Bideford

 

BIDEFORD were on the end of a 100-run hiding as B Division 2nd XI leaders Plymstock took another step closer to promotion.

Andy Richards (155) and Paul Williams (63no) did the damage as Plymstock posted 269 for two declared.

Marc Woodward then took six for 31 as Bideford were removed for 169 – Reece Stanbury making 80.

Ipplepen remain hard on the heels off Plymstock thanks to a six-wicket win over Brixham.

Sam Barrett took three for 45 as Brixham were restricted to 128 for eight – Wes Fowler making a best of 21. Dave Allsop (35) and Jonnny Ranjit (25) eased Pens to victory.

Sidmouth are a long way back in third following a drawn encounter with Abbotskerswell.

Wickets were hard to come by for Abbots as Greg Chaplin (92) and Simon Sobczak (79) helped Sidmouth make 246 for six.

Hayden Crocker’s 89 not out underpinned Abbots’ reply of 231 for eight, in which Sobczak took fouur foor 40.

South Devon won by two wickets at Kingsbridge to open up a 25-point safety cushion against relegation.

Matt Peach top scored with 69 in Kings’ tally of 200 all out – Dave Amery taking four for 62.

Neil Matthews (43) and Brian Allen (34) got South Devon over the line despite interference from old boy Sean Taylor (5-37).

Ottery defeated Alphington by six runs.
