B Division - Chudleigh have a jinx to lay
CHUDLEIGH entertain Dartington & Totnes determined to bury their D&T bogey.

The Foxhole side may be propping up the table, but Chudleigh have had problems with them before.

And with leaders Hatherleigh coming up next for second-placed Chudleigh, the last thing they want is a repeat of last season’s disasters.

“We won’t be taking D&T lightly as they did the double over us last year and we consistently struggle against the lower placed teams,” said skipper Jon Martin.

“A professional performance is going to be required to get a result - and also a bit of luck with the weather.

”We are nearly at the half-way stage now and in a good position, so we need to put some good points on the board ahead of a crunch game with Hatherleigh.”

Barton welcome first time visitors Lewdown to Cricketfield Road anxious to get out in the middle.

“We were disappointed not to play last week and luckily haven't lost any ground as everywhere was a wash out,” said skipper Adam Parker.

“Lewdown are a new challenge for us as we haven't come across them at all before.

“We will be concentrating on our game and trying to build on our win against Thorverton.

“Fingers crossed for the weather getting better.”

Andy Hele and Andy McVeigh come back into selection contention.

Lewdown skipper Charlie Hughes see Barton as a real challenge.

“There is no let up in this division with another big game against one of the favourites,” said Hughes.

“With only 12 points separating the top six, every point may make all the difference.

“We will need to show the form we were in before last week’s washout.”

Alphington – away to lowly Axminster - welcome back Tom Baxter and Andy Wilson. “We seem to get younger and younger as the weeks go on, but we are certainly trying to build a team for the future and trying to give some guys as much experience at 1st team men’s level as we can,” said captain Paul James.

“After being rained off last Saturday, and looking at the weather at the moment, we will be happy to get a game in.”

Elsewhere, Thorverton are away to Barnstaple and Tavistock play Hatherleigh in the West Devon derby.
