Chance to Shine spreads its net..............
The Devon Cricket Board is pleased to announce they will be supporting three additional clubs through the Chance to Shine programme in 2013. With this, eleven new schools, a healthy mix of Secondary and Primary will receive support. Thus giving more children the opportunity to become involved and play the game throughout the county. The clubs which have successfully applied to be supported by Chance to shine are North Devon CC, Filliegh CC, and Kentisbeare CC. We were delighted as a Cricket Board to see these clubs put so much time and effort in placing their bids and show a commitment to creating partnerships with their local school

The clubs involved have started creating new links with the schools they will be working with. The hard work has only just begun timetabling sessions, signing agreements and co-ordinating a variety of competition options for each club and school. These new projects take the total number we have countywide to twenty eight different clubs. In 2013 all of these projects and their coaches will be working in one hundred and thirty eight different schools, Chance to Shine and the cricket board believe that it is vital that we leave a legacy once the club and coach delivery in the schools has been and gone. The cricket board endeavours to up skill teachers and young leaders to facilitate this process and deliver cricket to pupils unsupported by coaches from outside.
We are looking forward to another fantastic year ahead with our Chance to shine projects. Encouraging and engaging more children to play cricket within the county, and make competition for these schools more readily available.
