C Division 2nd XI - Cornwood on course

CORNWOOD stayed on course for the C Division title thanks to an eight-wicket win over Honiton.

Chris Horton (4-28) and Fran Adams (4-20) removed Honiton for 85, then B Nicholls hit 33 not out in a brief chase.

Plymouth CSR took all 20 points off Shobrooke Park to stay ahead of Thorverton in the battle for second place.

Mark Hamlyn made 67 in Civil’s 208 for seven, then Ben Pitman took three for 19 to hasten Shobrooke’s demise to 120 all out.

Thorverton dispatched Yelverton in a hurry by nine wickets to stay three points behind Cornwood.

Neil Anning (4-12) helped skittle Yelverton for 96 – Gerry Keen making 27 – the Alan Tait led the chase with 75.

Alan Welsh (56no) and Mike Knight (40no) eased Clyst St George to a nine-wicket win over Clyst Hydon., for whom Matt Dudley made 63 towards a total of 159 all out.
