C Division news from Barnstaple and Filleigh

BARNSTAPLE & Pilton have lost batter George McEndoo from the side relegated from the B Division last season.

Henry McEndoo went to New Zealand last year, now brother George has followed suit.

With paceman Jack Popham now assisting North Devon in the Premier Division, skipper Steve Moore has lost two of is key performers.

No wonder the veteran spin bowler said of the season ahead; “It is going to be difficult.”

Barnstaple & Pilton are not short of other young talent like Popham – and it is to the next generation Moore is looking.

Prime among them is his own 13-year-old son Jack, who is set to take the new ball this season with Paul Schiller.

Watch out too for youngsters Tom Moody and James Russell as the season unfolds.

FILLEIGH, who are in the same division as Barnstaple & Pilton this season following promotion, are at home to Ottery St Mary first time out.

Mark Mbofana is back as the overseas player having taken 30 wickets and scored 366 runs at an average in the 40s last term.

But Devon age-group player Macauly Harrison-Hooton has left for Sandford looking for a better level of cricket.
