For those who braved the horrendous weather conditions, it was definitely a worthwhile journey to the Peter Chalk Centre at Exeter University. A crowd of over 140 people assembled from clubs all over Devon gathered to take part in the DCB Club Seminar 2013.
Devon Cricket Development Manager Matt Theedom gave a grand opening of the evening with an inspiring presentation of what achievements and major events have happend over the last twelve months. The main theme of the evening was sustainable clubs with Matt introducing and running through ECB's club strategy and how as a county board we are here to support your club.

The event was then turned towards the Devon Youth Cricket Foundation and Mark Ansell, the Chairman of that charity. Mark spoke about all the good work and support the Foundation has been involved with around the county, and particularly around how they can help clubs in the future.
The audience then broke out into six break out groups which covered; Club Finances with Jon Sparkes DCB Finance Director, Coach Education with Gary Worgan ECB Training Manager, Communicating with Young People Rosalie Birch, Sport England Funding Streams with James Bogue of the County Sports Partnership Active Devon, ECB Facilities Development with Tim Nicholls and Charlie Woolnaugh & his Team on Groundsmanship.
All of these break out room seminars were well received by all who attended probing and questioning the presenters to get really useful information to take back to their clubs.
A massive thank you goes out to all who attended and presented. For those of you who would like to see the presentations and other information from last night, it will be on the site next week. Photos are on our Facebook page of the event so please support and LIKE our page!
