CORNWOOD skipper Craig Harris reckons everything is in place for the season ahead.
Cornwood are back in the top flight after an absence of more than a decade and know it will be a challenge.
Skipper Craig Harris said the Corns are eager to get started and prepared to work to preserve their hard-won Premier status.
“We have had an up and down pre-season with the weather but over last weekend finally put to work some skills practiced over the winter,” said Harris.
“Training has gone well and we have been lucky to get to use our nets facility and club coaches to run drills, tidy up things missing from last season and really push to work ourselves hard.
“I've always said that we are under no illusion that we are playing in a tougher standard and that it is going to be hard. But we are completely up for the challenge and excited to play against the best.
“We know our goals for the season and if we stick together as a team we know that we can achieve them.
Specifically for the first game - and in general for every game - we are playing in an unknown, but this does work both ways.
“Hopefully we can hit the ground running, spring a result and have the best possible start to the season.
“Our batting and bowling will have to be disciplined and if everything clicks this early in the season we can get a head start over our rivals.”
