DEVON Dumplings defeated the Strollers by 52 runs on the County Ground to claim their 11th win of the season so far.
The Dumplings batted first against their long-standing opponents and made 217 all out by the 49th over.
The innings was built around Callum Still’s 85 with Glenn Lammonby (21), Keith Barlow (25) and Steve Bourke (22) his main assistants.
Wollen took four for 45 in 11.3 overs and Rutherford three for 34 in seven for the Strollers.
The Strollers had 56 overs to get the runs and at 141 for three with 33 gone it seemed an easy win was on the cards.
A brilliant run out removed Laurence for 37 and after he went the team subsided to 165 all out with 15 of the last 20 overs remaining.
Pike (53) was the top scorer. The last seven batsmen made negligible contributions.
Dumplings’ leading bowlers were Still (4-28), Quinn Waters (3-49) and Matt Kidd (2-27).
