England U19 Women Come Calling for Devon Girls

Four of Devon's young female cricketers will travel to Wellington College, Berkshire next week to take part in the England Women Under 19 Competition (formerly Junior Super 4s). This year 39 players have been selected and will be placed in one of 3 squads for the week. The 4th team for the week will be a boys’ County age group side which will add a new and challenging dimension to the competition. The week (a day longer than in previous years) will comprise two 50 over matches, two T20 matches and a series of educational and developmental classroom based sessions. Amara Carr, Aylish Cranstone, Cait O'Keefe along with Rebecca Bertrand will travel for the competition between 20th and 24th August. Alli Kelly has been named as one of the reserves whilst Jodie Dibble and Lydia Harris were also initially included only to have to pull out through injury. Selection for the week is an important step for the girls as they move through the England pathway and hope to press their claims for inclusion in the U19 side to play Pakistan on 01st September and then hopefully push for places on the England Academy.
