GoDs off to winning start on London tour

THE Gentlemen of Devon made a winning start to their London tour when they overcame Turnham Green & Polytechnic by 90 runs.

The Gents, who draw heavily on Exeter for their players, recovered from a shaky 19 for three after five overs to reach 160 all out with Matt Medway striking a top score of 57.

Medway, who hit six fours, and Callum Still (33) put in 48 then James Faulkner (40) helped Medway added another 79 for the sixth wicket.

The last four wickets fell without a run added as the Gents collapsed at the end.

The Poly were all out for 70 in reply with 22 extras embarrassingly the top score.

Lewis Townsend took three for 15 and there were two wickets each for Neil Fairbairn and George Martin.
