LEWIS Gregory has been talking about his MCC debut against LV= County champions Lancashire in Dubai. The game was played as a day-night fixture with a pink ball and Gregory ended with match figures of three for 63 as Lancashire won by six wickets.
The Somerset all-rounder came up through Devon’s youth ranks and was a regular in the Plympton 1st XI from the age of 14 before joining Somerset.
‘It was a really good experience for me playing in conditions out there that are entirely different to the way things are back home in early season or probably at any time during the summer,’ said the 19-year-old, who was groomed in the Devon youth ranks.
‘It was also good to put some of the skills I have been working hard on during the winter into action in a match situation.’
After getting off to a flying start last summer, Gregory (pictured) then missed part of the season through injury, but he is now fully recovered.
‘My fitness is good and I’m ready to go,’ he said.
‘For me the target is to play as much first-team cricket as I can and, when I get those opportunities, to perform well and be consistent. If I do that then the results will speak for themselves.’
