Heathcoat prosper under Jones' new regime

QASSIM Adams slammed a century and Toby Lochead hit 76 to point Heathcoat towards a 46-run win over Exeter.
Heathcoat appointed former captain (2005) and Willand Rovers soccer boss Jones to the new post of director of cricket earlier this month.
Two games into the new regime Heathcoat have won them both – and skipper Sam Smith thinks Jones has something to do with that.
“Clive coming in has taken the pressure off me and has helped instill some self-belief around the club,” said Smith.
“We have had two massive wins (Exmouth and Exeter) but there is still a long way to in what is a strange season for us.”
Heathcoat were 25 for twoc when Adams went out to join Lochead at the start of partnership eventually worth 181.
Lochead, who faced 104 balls and hit 10 boundaries, was the man out on 206 when Ben Green bowled him.
Adams went next for 126 off 121 balls, which included 16 fours and a couple of sixes.
Heathcoat were into the last eight overs by then and lost wickets cheaply having a swing.
Neal Prouse picked up three for 52, Adams among them, while Ollie Sale (5-45) collected his first five-wicket Premier haul.
Exeter were in all sorts of trouble at 22 for three with Devon pair Rob Holman and Ben Green out, along with skipper Miles Lenygon.
Neil Prowse batted through from second wicket down to make 118, but after Sean Morris went for 34 there was a notable lack of runs from the other end.
Jamie Barrs (18) did put on 58 with Prowse, but that was for the ninth wicket with the game already slipping way.
Prowse was last man out, the fourth and final scalp for Ned Menheneott.
