Kingsbridge devastated by hurricane Watkin
 
DIVISION ONE TABLES


NICK Watkin produced a devastating spell of bowling as Division One leaders Torquay overcame Kingsbridge by 35 runs to win a thriller.

Torquay’s total of 122 for six – Watkin (30), Josh Hunt (20) – was probably a little under par.

Watkin’s three for 19 from three overs – Dan Hardy, James Rosewarne and James Shepherd were the casualties – turned the game Torquay’s way.

John Hardy made 28 before he was snared lbw by Joe Thompson in Kings total of 87 all out.

Abbotskerswell crusied to a four-wicket win over Paignton with an over to spare.

Paignton were all out for 154 in the last of their 12 overs – Conor Ashworth making a top score of 72.

Toby Lovell was the only casualty on the chase as Josh Dowling (49), Karl Beasant (30) and Jono Penny (28) knocked off the runs.

Paignton A had too much firepower for Dartington & Totnes, who were swept aside by 97 runs.

George Yates to scored with 50 and chip ins from Ian Selway (45) and George Benton (35) helped Paignton reach `192 for four.

Two wickets each for Ashworth and Benton saw D&T skittled out for 97 in the eighth over with Ashley Harvey (34) and Josh Thomas (39) the only batters to resist.

Paignton 192-4 (G Yates 50, I Selway 45, G Benton 35, M Pedley 27; A Harvey 2-54), D&T 97 (A Harvey 34, J Thomas 39; G Benton 2-6, C Ashworth 2-39).

TOM Durman hinted at what good signing he will be outdoors for Abbotskerswell next summer with a top score of 62 in the 48-run win over Kingskerswell.

Durman, newly arrived from Ashburton, helped his new team-mates compile 240 for three in their 12 overs. Charlie Mitchell (34), Toby Codd (46), G French (30) and Charlie Hill (27) all chipped in.

David Lear made a battling 77 and Matt Stephens added 45 for Abbots who, assisted by 52 extras, were 192 when their batting expired.

Ipplepen came up short chasing165 to win against Stokeinteighead, despite a battling 77 not out from youngster Jonny Norman.

Stoke hit 164 for four with Dan Britcliff leading the way and lots of chip ins.

Tom Smith (2-42) and Tom Haskins (2-38) helped limit Pens to 161 in reply.

Chelston were too strong in every department for Harberton, who went down by 68 runs,

Chris Harrison top scored for Chenston with 72 and Wojciech Szymanski weighed in with 36 in a toaly of 160 for four.

Sam Gornall (18) and Mark Harvey (33) got Harberton off to a solid start, but once they went it was downhill all the way to 92 all out with two overs to go.
