Thompson has big hand in Torquay indoor win

TORQUAY extended their winning run at the top of the table to six games with a 30-run win over second-bottom Paignton B
.

Skipper Joe Thompson top scored with 36, and there were handy chip ins from Miles Caywood (33), Neal Osborn (31) and Nick Watkin (30) in Torquay’s 12-over total of 178 for three.

The Ashworth’s – Conor (33) and Joel (29) – led the Paiognton reply, which ran out of steam at 148.

Thompson’s two overs for 12 runs helped slow Paignton’s response.

Half-centuries from Ashley Harvey and Josh Thomas set Dartington & Totns on course for an 86-run win over Abbotskersewell.

Harvey (57), Thomas (54) and James Howrihane (48) were all among the runs in D&T’s total of 212 for two.

Toby Lovell (40no) and Matt Rendle (26) had the only scores worth noting in Abbots’ 12-over reply of 126 for four.

Paignton A beat Kingsbridge by 48 runs to stay second behind leaders Torquay

George Yates, George Benton and Danny North all made 26s for Paignton, whose top scorer with 30 was Mark Smith.

James Ellis (37) lacked worthwhile support other than from Paignton’s wayward bowling as Kings were bowled out for 105 with 14 balls to go.

CHELSTON surrendered their unbeaten record in Division Two when they ran into Stokeinteignhead – although it took something special to do it!

Step forward Stoke batter Rob Clarke who clattered a maiden century, the first in the new competition, in his team’s 191 for six.

Chris Harrison’s 26 was as good as it got for Chelston, who were 155 for five when time ran out. Tom Hawkins picked up three for 35.

Ipplepen are the new leaders in Division Two thanks to a one-run win over Kingskerswell.

Noah Wright (65) and Haydn Crocker (35) helped Abbotskerswell B reach 155 all out against Paignton C.

Toby Codd (2-24) helped put the skids under Paignton, who were 117 for five when the overs ran out.

Mark Orchard hit a half century and George Northcott (46no) just missed out on one as Brixham made 167 for two against Harberton.Mark Harvey’s 50 and Ted Waller’s 39 were not enough to get Harberton past 126 for four and they lost by 41 runs.
