League call up three for Lions challenge match
THE Devon League XI have been forced to make three late changes for today's 50-over challenge match against the Devon Lions at Sandford (11am).

Plymouth have asked for their players to be released from the match as they are heading to Pontydullais for the ECB Regional Play-Offs.

Fast bowler Sam Stein and spinner Henry Bennett were both in the original Devon League XI selected for the game, but have been released to play.

Their places have gone to Exmouth pair Jamie Tapper and Max Curtis.

And Paignton quick bowler George Benton pulled out last night after suffering a side strain in the drawn game against Plymstock.

Torquay spin bowler Tom Field comes into the side.

The League XI were two-wicket winners in the corresponding game last season - chasing 170 to win on a gloomy day at Bovey Tracey.

Skipper Andy Kingdon, who was a member of that winning side, is hoping to maintain that 100 per cent record in a fixture revived after being dormant for nearly 20 years.

'Looking down our side we have a lot of batting and plenty of bowling options,' said Kingdon.

'The Lions are strong, but we have a team capable of beating them.'

of them are playing exceedingly well this season, said Kingdon.
