Lions beat England Deaf XI in last over

A DEVON Lions XI defeated the England Deaf XI by four wickets in a 35-over game at Paignton.

The Deaf XI set off smartly, putting on 84 for the first wicket, before Devon bowlers Ryan Bougourd, Tom Field and Peter Bradley reined them in to 134 for six.

Devon were going nowhere at 40 for four when Callum Whittaker took a hand in proceedings.

Whittaker hit a quick 27, which left Luke Bess, Bradley and Zac Bess to see the Lions home in the final over.
