Morris sidelined for six weeks
FAST-bowler Charlie Morris is out of Devon’s attack for the next six weeks and will miss the MCCA Trophy group stages completely.

Morris suffered a broken index finger while fielding for Oxford MCCU against Durham yesterday and is going to be sidelined for at least six weeks.

Devon had named 13 in their travelling party for tomorrow's cancelled game against Herts at Welwyn.

However,  a call on Saturday afternoon from Hertfordshire officials saved Devon a wasted trip.

“We have had a phone call from Hertfordshire to say the ground was under water this morning,” said Devon’s director of cricket Roger Newman.

“They said they would do an inspection after lunch and came back with the answer there was no way we were going to play.”

Devon will be hoping for better luck with the weather when Cornwall visit them at Instow next Sunday in the Trophy.
