Bovey have tough path back to final

HOLDERS Bovey Tracey have been drawn at home to Babbacombe in the preliminary round of this season’s Aaron Printers Narracott Cup competition.

The draw, made by competition sponsor Marcel Massey at his Aaron Printers shop in Newton Abbot, handed beaten finalists Dartington & Totnes a home game against Kingskerswell in the preliminary round.

Having been defeated in the last two finals, Dartington & Totnes will be hoping to go all the way this year. However, they will face 2011 winners Stoke Gabriel if they get over the first hurdle.

Bovey’s path to another final won’t be easy as their first-round opponents, subject to progression, are Abbotskerswell.

There is one other game in the preliminary round, which sees Paignton entertaining Barton.

The full draw is:

Preliminary round: Bovey Tracey v Babbacombe (May 9); Dartington & Totnes v Kingskerswell (May 9); Paignton v Barton (May 16).

First round: Bovey Tracey or Babbacombe v Abbotskerswell (May 23), Ipplepen v Shaldon Optimists (May 23); Stoke Gabriel v Dartington & Totnes (May 30), Torquay v Paignton or Barton (May 30).
